Grass Moves in the Wind | Artist Nguyễn Ngọc Liêm

Grass Moves in the Wind | Artist Nguyễn Ngọc Liêm

After a decade of tirelessly searching for his artistic language, artist Nguyễn Ngọc Liêm has found his own voice. It is the expression of the “essence” of objects so “ordinary that they are easily overlooked.”

With a minimalist approach, he gradually strips away redundant details to reveal the pure and authentic state of small, simple things, elevating them into profound aesthetics.

The exhibition “Grass Moves in the Wind” continues to reflect his consistent style but with a fresh expression. Without haste or ostentation, the works this time are a blend of rustic forms and soft, gentle colors, preserving the everyday moments the artist has experienced – much like a diary.

Inspired by the work “Kusamakura” (The Grass Pillow) by writer Natsume Sōseki, which suggests that when storms uproot the ancient trees, what remains in the forest are the blades of grass moving in the wind.

We warmly invite you to the exhibition “Grass Moves in the Wind” at Maii Art Space to reflect on the aesthetics of simplicity, elegance, and serenity through the works of artist Nguyễn Ngọc Liêm.

The exhibition “Grass Moves in the Wind” will officially open at 18:00 on December 13, 2024 at Maii Art Space and will run until December 17, 2024.

We sincerely invite you to attend.
