[Profile] Mathilde Granveau

Mathilde Granveau is a French contemporary artist exploring the balance between structure and movement, precision and intuition. Her work is shaped by the places she has lived: France, Laos, Turkey, and now Vietnam, each leaving its imprint in the geometric rhythms and bold compositions she creates.

At the heart of her work is a journey through transformation, where each shape, line, and color reflects both grounding and growth. Her ROOTS collection, in particular, explores this balance between stability and evolution, using geometric patterns to symbolize the connections that anchor us while embracing the freedom to change.

Through each piece, she invites you to pause, to feel, and to lose yourself in the patterns that reveal the depths of our inner connections.

Her Artistic Journey

Art is a continual journey; one that’s shaped by the places she’s lived and the experiences that have influenced her creative evolution. From the foundational years in France to her travels across Southeast Asia, South America, and Africa, each chapter has contributed new layers of depth, culture, and understanding to her work.

In Vietnam, she has found a profound connection to the natural world that continues to guide and transform her practice. Her art blends geometric precision with elements drawn from her surroundings, reflecting the fluidity and energy she now embraces.

Her Creative process

Her process is both precise and mindful. Through her distinctive tape-art technique, she layers acrylic paint to reveal intricate compositions — a slow, meditative act that mirrors grounding itself: uncovering what lies beneath the surface. Her earthy palette, infused with subtle metallic hues and organic geometries, reflects her bond with nature and Vietnam’s spiritual rhythm. Each piece becomes a quiet meditation on connection and belonging. Mathilde’s work has been exhibited in France, Spain, Turkey, Laos, and Vietnam, across both gallery exhibitions and large-scale murals. She remains guided by the same intention: to find stillness within motion and beauty in the process of becoming.
